Unit7 It’s raining! ---------------Learn to be a travel reporter 卢祉君.大岭山中学 Introduction: In this class,the aim is to teach students the weather words and “doing”sentences by practicing ,reviewing words through listening material and oral outputting. At the same time, students are required to learn to be a basic travel reporter referring to the learned knowledge. Differed to the traditional listening material,the material in this class was performed by students from the English club. In the meantime,the listening material modeled the daily video talk which can arouse students‘ interest naturally. Background information: Students:53 Junior high school students,Grade1 Type of lesson:listening,speaking Lesson duration:40mins Teaching objectives: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: learn to describe the weather and “doing”things; ask and answer questions about one‘s place; use interview strategies to find out information and take notes; learn to speak English by imitating and recreating listening material. present the interview results naturally to other students; learn to be a good listener and have confidence to ask questions in English. Teaching contents:vocabulary of weather How‘s the weather?/What’s the weather like? It‘s cloudy. Teaching aids:blackboard,pen,PPT,learning guide Teaching procedures: Step1. Lead-in Warm-up:a song:”You are the sunshine of my life.” Ask Ss whether they know “travel reporter”. Students try to describe the abilities of travel reporter. Teacher encourages students to learn the abilities of travel reporter in English. Step2.Learn the new words Use pictures to introduce the words. cloudy, sunny windy……. Use pictures to speak where and weather. Use the structure: How’s the weather in Beijing? It’s sunny…….. Step3.Listening task: try to find out information and review the word
