Teaching aims and demands:
1. Learn the new words : hot; cold; cool; warm; humid; spring; autumn; winter
2. Use the following patterns skillfully.
(1).Hows the weather? /Whats the weather like? Its sunny/raining/snowing/windy/hot.

(3).Hows it going? Great!/Pretty good./Not bad!/Terrible!
3. Learn to enjoy the English song.
Teaching main and difficult points:
1. Master the present progressive tense.
2. Learn to write an article about the weather.
Teaching procedures:
Step one: Revision
Duty report: Hows everything today?
Revise the new words and expressions in this section.
Step two: Presentation
Use the weather pictures to show how to describe the different weather. Then make a conclusion. After that , show the four seasons pictures ,and then ask the students some questions about the different weather in the four seasons.
Finish 1a.Discuss in groups. Match the words with the pictures. Then check the answers.(1-d,2-a,3-e,4-c,5-b)
Step three: Practice
Book: 1b. Work in pairs. Ask and answer questions about the weather in the pictures above.
A: Hows the weather in picture c?
B: Its hot.
A: Hows the weather in picture a?
B: Its cold.
Listen to 1c twice and finish the chart below. Answer these questions: Hows it going? What are you doing? Hows the weather ? Then check the answers.
Listen again and repeat.
Practice in pairs. One is Maria, the other is Sam. Ask and answer these questions: Hows the weather? Then ask some pairs to act it out.
Step four: Consolidation
Do the exercises to consolidate.
Step five: Summary
Ask the students to sum up the content in this period.
Let the students ask any questions they get puzzled.
Step six: Homework
Which season do you like best? Write an article about the weather of the four se
