Teaching Aids PPT and A computer for multimedia use. Teaching Methods Make conversation freely using the target language and group work method. Teaching procedure Step 1:Leading in (about 3 minutes) Greet students as usual. Asking students the weather T: Look outside, How’s the weather? It’s good or bad? Ss: Good. T:Ok. Do you want to know how to describe the weather? We will talk about the weather today. Objects: Raise students’ interest. Step2: Presentation (about 9 minutes) Have students look at the pictures and read the words on the PPT。 Talk about the meaning of the words. Teach students to read the new words. Objects: Get students familiar with the new words of weather description. Step 3: Work on 1a(about 5 minutes) Read the instructions. Read each of the words and phrases of 1a. Finish 1a in groups. Ask several groups to share the answers. Then check the answer. Objects: Make students be more familiar with the words by relating to pictures. Step4: Work on 1b(about 15 minutes) Look at the pictures on PPT. And then make conversation. Look a video about weather description. Now lets look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me. Ss read the cities after the teacher. 1b Listen and write these city names in the boxes above. Beijing Moscow Toronto Boston Shanghai 4. Now, We’ll hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape. Play the recording
