AbstractABSTRACT Abstract ABSTRACT As is known to all，the applications of membrane separation technology in food industry,chemical industry,medical，pharmaceuticals and water purification has attracted a lot of attention，owing to its high efficiency,low energy consumption， simplicity and economic advantages．However,the applications of membrane separation in high temperature were greatly restricted for quite a long time because of poor thermal stability of organic membranes．Although ceramic membranes have good thermal stability,they are fragile and need be sealed by organic materials． Based on these questions，metal membranes were developed．Considering the specific surface area，packing density and separation unit efficiency,hollow fiber membrane is undoubtedly the best choice among many types of geometric configurations．Yet，the difficulties of molding and sintering progress of metal hollow fiber membranes remain issues to be resolved．Therefore，metal-ceramic composition hollow fiber membrane was fabricated in this work to satisfy the application in higher temperature．It’S hoped that they Call possess the advantages of both ceramic and metal hollow fiber membranes，such aS easy sintering，toughness， machinability and solderability． In this work，stainless steel—alumina composite hollow fiber membrane Was prepared using mixed stainless steel and alumina powderand then compared with the stainless steel hollow fiber membrane．The hollow fiber membranes with less than 20wt．％alumina showed good solderability,while hollow fiber membranes with the other ratio suggested weak solderability or even non—solderability．When the weight ratios were converted to volume ratio，it would be 1 8％，33％，46％and 57％， which revealed that in samples with 40wt．％alumina，ceramic phase became the main phase，which resulted in non-solderability． 砀e composite hollow fiber membrane with 1 0wt。％alumina exhibited best machinability and solderability,and had well-distributed pore in the side wall．Thus， it’S consi
