ABSTRACT This thesis discusses the relationship between human beings and animals through art, and my own artworks. The reason for choosing this topic is that the relationship between humans and animals is an indispensable one in human life. The animal is the most similar groups to human beings in nature. With such a relationship, by virtue of the similarity, humans and animals have crossed the long river of history together. Along the way, the relationship between humans and animals has profoundly changed, with the development of the times, the culture, economy, science and technology. The author has a special concern of animals, and it’s also one of the sources of the theme of this thesis. Through different understandings and feelings to the animal over different periods, a series of works with a large number of animals have been created. The animal images in my works can be divided into three different types corresponding to the work time. Works started with the understanding and awareness of animals. During this period, the painting materials are coming from life, as well as the fantasy and dreams. My life, my dreams is one of the works of this period. The series on animal expressions show my feelings on the city life of animals connected to human beings. Animal face series of photo are the works of this period. In the last year of my postgraduate period, a series of works on the animal images and the streets of Lhasa were created in the context of the development of the city.
