On behalf of CBCSD, I would like to talk about Chinese enterprises’ involvement in building an environmental friendly society, mainly in two parts: * 一、建设环境友好型社会是中国企业刻不容缓的责任 经济全球化和科学技术日新月异，加快了世界经济发展，促进了国与国之间的经济技术合作。但与此同时，带来的负面影响也日趋严重，自然资源破坏、生态环境恶化、气候变暖、贫富差距加大、失业和社会保障缺乏等问题，引起了国际社会对可持续发展的广泛关注。 Ⅰ. It is an urgent task of Chinese enterprises to build an environmental friendly society. Economic globalization and the ever-changing technologies have boosted the world economy and promoted economic and technological cooperation between countries. However, the negative impacts such as degradation of natural resources and ecological environment, global warming, greater discrepancy between the rich and the poor, unemployment and the insufficient social security have been intensifying. Under this context, sustainable development has attracted worldwide attention. * 中国作为世界上人口最多的发展中国家，在经济社会发展过程中承受着资源缺乏和环境保护的双重压力，中国作为负责任的发展大国，中国政府把实施可持续发展作为推动经济和社会发展的国家战略，把节约资源和保护环境作为基本国策，明确提出要建设资源节约型、环境友好型社会；建设民主法治、公平正义、诚信友爱、充满活力、安定有序、人与自然和谐相处的社会。 As a developing country with the largest population, China has been under dual pressure of both resource shortage an
