Department of Physical Education，Tianjin Foreign Study University，Tianjin 300204，China ） Abstract: Based on theories of modern teaching, the authors worked out the “chain type double helix” teaching strategy. In the process of teaching, the “helix type” enhancement of volleyball techniques, tactics and competition capabilities, and the “helix type” enhancement of mental capacities (such as interest, motive, self-respect, moral character, and social adaptation) as a result of positive emotional experience, are two “helixes”. By using virtual competition situation and the process orientated self evaluation and mutual evaluation of materialized student men- tal objectives (via objective evolution) as the “chain”, the interpenetration function of the “double helix” is gradu- ally intensified, so that the students can develop synchronously and comprehensively in terms of mental health and social adaptation while they are mastering volleyball techniques and tactics.
