Teaching steps:
Step1 lead in:
Talk about your own free time activities and lead the students to make conversations.
T: Morning, boys and girls. I always have a busy and happy weekend. What do I usually do on weekends? I often ...
Then to the students: What do you often do on weekends?
Ask 3-4students to answer the teacher’s question using“I often...”.
Students ask and answer in pairs in 1 minute. Then 4-5 pairs present their conversations to the class. (以“weekend activity”为话题展开师生、生生之间的交流)
Step 2Practice (1a﹠1c)
What do you often do on weekends? Now let look at Page 9
1a: Ask the students to look at the picture on page9 and complete 1a individually. Then check the answers in pairs or groups.
1c: The students look at the picture again, the teacher with one or two students, makes a model conversation like this:
-What do you do on weekends?-I usually watch TV.
-Do you go shopping?-No, I never go shopping.
Then the students do a pair work, make their conversations to talk about the people in the picture. As they talk , the teacher moves around and offers language or pronunciation support as needed
After the pair work, 3-5 pairs present their conversations to the class.
