Unit 1 Where did you go on vacation?
Period One (Section A1a-
Teaching aims
1.To master the new words : anyone, anywhere, wonderful, few, most
2.To master the key phrases: quite a few, go on vacation
3.To master the key sentences:
⑴Where did you go on vacation?
⑵We took quite a few photos there.
⑶Did you do anything special?
Teaching importances and difficulties
To be able to talk about past events and to master the usages of Indefinite Pronouns.

Teaching procedures
Step1 Greeting and free talk
Say: Dear boys and girls, summer vacation is over. Welcome back to school. My summer vacation was very great. I went to Yunnan and I visited many places of interest. I think all of you had a wonderful time on your vacation. Next please talk about your vacation with your partners.
Ask and answer questions about summer vacation in pairs like this:
A: How was your summer vacation?
B: It was great.
A: Where did you go on vacation?
B: I went to Hainan.
A: What did you do?
B: I went to the beach.
Step 2 Presentation
Present the studying aims on the blackboard or on the screen. Let the students know what they will learn in this lesson.
Step 3 Self-study(Ⅰ)
Look at the picture on Page 1 and read the phrases in 1a aloud individually and then match the activities with pictures correctly and then check the answers in groups.
Step 4 Listening
Listen to the tape in 1b carefully and finish the task in 1b.
Listen again and let the students repeat after the tape and check the answers by themselves.
Step 5 Groupwork
Make conversations about the people in the picture and practice them in groups.
For example:
A: Where did Tina go on vacation?
B: She went to the mountains.
A: Where did Xiang Hua go?
B: She went to New York City.
……
Step 5 Listening
1.Look through the tasks in 2a and 2b carefully before listening.
2.Play the tape the first time, let the students only listen.
3.Play the tape the second time and let the students finish the tasks in 2a
