Ss can communicate with others about future intentions by using what/where/how/when-questions. 3. Ss will be able to talk about their future intentions. ·Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Revision Play a memory game to review words about jobs and lead in a listening activity. Step 2: Listening Look at the picture and predict what he is going to be. Then listen and check the correct answers. Encourage students to ask more questions about Chen Han’s future with be going to. Listen again and write down Chen Han’s plans for the future. Learn the strategies about how to write down long sentences during listening. e.g Write down the first letters and complete the whole sentence later. Invite students to give a report. Tell us something about Chen Han’s future. Step 3: Speaking Read the conversation for the first time and answer these questions: What are they talking about? What is Ken going to be? How is he going to become a teacher? Read the conversation carefully and think about this question: Why does Ken want to be a writer? Discuss the meaning of Ken’s advice: Just make sure you try your best. Then you can be anything you want! Role-play the conversation in 2d and pay much attention to the pronunciation and intonation.. Read the conversation together and make it clear that some words can be replaced to form a new conversation. Make a new conversation with a partner to talk about future intentions. Homework: 1. Read the conversation in 2d after the tape for two times. Write down the conversation you made with your partner. Blackboard Design: Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science?
