Teaching aims： ⑴Words and expressions: grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist Key sentences: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be ... . How are you going to do that? I’m going to .... Be able to talk about future intentions. ⑵ Train students’ listening and speaking skills. ⑶ Lead students to know that where there is a will, there is a way. Ⅱ. Teaching key points and difficulty 1.Key points: (1) Master the new words and phrases. (2) Be able to talk about future intentions. 2.Difficulty Train students’ listening skill and cooperative skill. Ⅲ. Teaching Aid: Multimedia Ⅳ. Teaching procedures: Step1. leading-in and teach the new words. Have a free talk with the students. T: do you have a hobby? Ss: yes, I do. Show the pictures on the screen. Give students 1 mintues to practice reading these words by themselves. 2.Invite some students to read the words one by one. 3. Let students ask and answer with their deskmates. Step3:Listening practice Call attention to the items in activity 1b. let the students read the items before listening to the tape. Now listen to the tape and finish 1b.then check their answers. Step4: Practice the conversation what are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be a basketball player . how are you going to do that? I’
