教学设计
I. Analysis of Teaching Materials
The main task is to improve students’ reading skills by reading the passage in 2b. It introduces the history of Thanksgiving and the way to make turkey--the main dish of Thanksgiving dinner.
II. Analysis of Students
The students in Grade 8 have learn English for one and a half years. They have master some vocabulary and simple sentences, so they can understand the main ideas about the passage in 2b. They are familiar with Christmas in the western countries, but they aren’t familiar with the festival in America--Thanksgiving. As a teacher, I want to help my students learn more about Thanksgiving while I help then improve their reading skills.

Train students’ spirit of cooperation.

1. Help students be interested in English.
