IV Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Warming-up
Watch a video and check the phrases in Task 1.

Step 2. Pair work
Classify the phrases. And teach new phrases.

Guess the order (顺序) of main purpose (目的) of each paragraph (段落).

______ B. To give the meaning (意思) of resolution
______ C. To discuss (讨论) the different kinds of resolutions
Step 4. Reading
1. Read the 1st paragraph and answer: What’s the first paragraph mainly about?
Then ask Ss to answer more questions.
2. Read the 2nd paragraph and answer: What’s the second paragraph mainly about?
Then ask Ss to find the four kinds of resolutions.
3. Read the 3rd paragraph and answer: What’s the third paragraph mainly about?
What’s the one thing in common for most resolutions?
Step 5 Reading Strategy
Match the main purpose of each paragraph with the topic sentence.
How do you do that? Find the key words and ask Ss to give the examples.
Step 6 Fill in the blanks.
These are about making yourself a better person
For example, a student may have to find more time to study.
There are good reasons for this.
