Ss can use the following key words and expressions correctly: “safe, simply, fear, whether, fox, equator, whenever; thousands of, on the one hand… on the other hand…, all year round”. 2. Ss can know about the languages, food, weather and some features in Singapore. 3. Ss can remember things better by making notes. 4. Ss can understand the meaning of travelling. Teaching key points 1. To use the following key words and expressions correctly: “safe, simply, fear, whether, fox, equator, whenever,; thousands of, on the one hand… on the other hand…, all year round”. 2. To know about the languages, food, weather and some features in Singapore. Teaching methods Interactive approach, situational language approach Teaching aids PPT, OHP, some stickers Teaching Procedures Teacher Students 1.Warm up Greet the Ss. Introduce myself and ask 3 or 4 Ss the question “Have you been to …?” Answer the questions. 2. Before travelling Share some pictures of Singapore with students. Ask Ss to brainstorm what we may consider before we go travelling. Present new words to get Ss ready for the upcoming reading tasks. Enjoy the pictures of Singapore. Think about the different aspects before we go travelling. Have a basic understanding of the new words and get ready for reading. 3. While travelling in Singapore Get Ss to read the first or the last sentence of each paragraph and ask them to summarize the key words of each paragraph. Play the recording paragraph by paragraph and find out reasons for visiting Singapore. Ask Ss to read the text again and correct the four sentences in Activity 2c.(pair work) Read the first or the last sentence of each paragraph and summarize the key words of each paragraph. Listen to text paragraph by paragraph and try to find
