Abst act:Probing on the w hole de eloping process of the relationship between the ecological en iron-
ment and human acti ity in the extremely arid areas in the long human de elopment history, we can
find that the human-land relationship has changed along w ith the shift of time and space on the back-
ground of the physical change of climate and ecological en ironment .On one hand, historically from
the primiti e society to the agricultural society, then to the industrial society and the post-industrial so-
ciety, the human-land relationship has gone through four de elopment phases:dependent on nature,
interfering and complying w ith nature, interfering with nature, pro-acti e and coordinating to-na-
ture, w hich are determined by the increase of producti e acti ity, impro ement of the producti e tools
