Learn some of the new words (Purpose: Language input and vocabulary.) Step 4 While Reading Scanning: Scan the whole passage to find what the numbers mean. ⑵. Scanning: Scan para 1,2,3,4 to find the answers to the questions. (Purpose: to give Ss practice in scanning for specific information) (3)Careful reading :mind-mapping (Purpose: to give Ss practice in finding the details. ) ⑷. Discussion: As teenagers, what can we do to help save the pandas? ⑸. Summary and Retelling: What have you learned about pandas through reading? (Purpose: Summarize and language output.) Step 5. Sentence appreciation and the vocabulary-using. (post-reading) (Purpose: Focus on the sentences and vocabulary. Use them in the new context.) Step 6. Listening and imitation. Step 7. Watch a video, talk about and write about whales. (Purpose: Expanding and transferring of knowledge) Step 8. Homework Write to introduce whales and call on people to protect them. Retell the story about pandas.
