Teaching objectives:??? 1.?Knowledge?Objectives By the end of the class, students will be able to master: (1)?New words and phrases: take down, terrorist, shocked, completely, .tower, in silence (2) Consolidate the past continuous tense 2. Ability Objectives: After the class, students will improve their abilities of reading comprehension and writing. 3.?Emotional objectives: In the class, students will get some knowledge about Dr. Martin Luther King and “9·11” event. T Ⅱ.Teaching Focuses: This class, students will master the new words and phrases, and improve their?abilities?of?reading?comprehension and writing. III. Teaching Difficulties: I think students may find it a little difficult to find out the deep meaning of this passage that the writer wants to tell us. Besides, it may be also hard for some students to write an important event they remember. To break through the difficulties, during the class, I will help students to analyze the passage step by step. If necessary, I will give them some hints. And before writing, I will let students discuss the writing content and lead them to write three paragraphs. Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Greeting Introduce myself to the students and greet them. (设计意图:让学生简单地了解自己,并与他们亲切问候,可以拉近师生之间的距离) Step 2 Lead-in Students watch a video about “9·11” event. Lead students to say out the name of “World Trade Center” (设计意图:“9·11” 视频与本课所讲的内容一致,并且能充分激起学生的兴趣,让他们在最短的时间内把注意力集中在课堂上。 Step3 Fast Reading Here are two activities. 1.
