However, since the internet has the characteristics of open and virtual, the Cyberspace Public Opinion effects more broadly, spread faster and erupt more suddenly than the traditional public opinion. Moreover, various kinds of unhealthy and seditious information exist everywhere on Internet, which would lead to irrational judgment and instability of society. Therefore, it is essential to supervise and control the cyberspace public opinion effectively. Different from the traditional research on public opinion which targets limited and specific websites or information sources which are supervised partially, this thesis targets the index of search engine, combining with Index Analysis technology to realize the analyzing and supervising the cyberspace public opinion in index of search engine. Accordingly, lead a preliminary research on supervising the cyberspace public opinion macroscopically. This thesis firstly discussed the theory of search engine and index structure. Then the analysis and conclusion of existing technique and theory in Index Analysis are made. And in the meantime, the shortcoming of Yossef-Gurevich Algorithm of Index Analysis emphasized. Based on the situation of our country and motive of public opinion supervision, this thesis made some improvement to Yossef-Gurevich Algorithm, which on one hand, by constructing the Chinese Query Dictionary, and experimenting the best trial times of Monte Carlo Simulation, made the Index Analysis technology be effectively applied to the Chinese index.
