The results show that with the increase of sludge content, the compressive strength of the sludge tile decreases rapidly and the flexural strength increases slightly. Decrease of the sludge particle size can enhance the overall strength of the tile, and the sandwich complex structure can en- hance the compressive strength of the tile. Furthermore, it is found that the sludge tiles had better abrasion resistance than common gray bricks but worse abrasion resistance than retail tiles. The water leached from the sludge tiles is almost non corrosive, and sludge containing the heavy metals Cu and Mn are well sealed up in the tiles and do not leach out. Key
