T he authors d iscu ss a new num er ical smi u lation m ethod of the dow nburst w ind loads on the b asis of the prev ious research. F irstly, the w ind sp eed is expressed as the sum o f an in stantaneou s m ean w ind sp eed and an am plitude-m odulat ing non-stationary f lu ctuat ing w ind speed. Second ly, a new m ethod based on the modified O seggu era and Bow les /V icroy ( O BV ) m odel to smi ulate the m ean w ind is presented and the flu ctuat ing w ind is smi u lated by a m odified sp ectral represen tation m ethod. T he new m ethod contain s the effect of the tran slat iona lm ot ion and the tmi e-dep endent decay of the storm. Fu ll agreem ent is reached betw een data from the new m ethod and fu ll-scale da ta from a h igh inten sity dow nburst th at occurred at A ndrew s A ir Force B ase in 1983.
