Abstract he species diversity has been investigated around the National Stadium in Beijing from July 20 th to
August 15 th in 2005 through light traps.An analysis of dominance has been made.A total of 112 insect species
belonging to 10 orders and 42 families were collected by the light-trap; he species numbers of Lepidoptera and
Coleoptera were the highest.Among all the light-trapped insects, Macroscytus su aeneus and Harpalus pallidipennis
are the most dominant species; here is a peak on August 6 for all insects together as well as for the two most
dominant species.
