论 论 文摘要 美国高等教育的魅力所在主要集中于私立高教系统中，但又不仅仅在于其私 立研究型大学对美国社会乃至全世界所做的种种巨大贡献，还在于美国高等院校 类型的多样化。在这种类繁多的高校群体中，美国四年制私立文理学院(priv— ate four—year liberal arts college)是一类不可缺少的角色，是美国本科教 育的精髓，是一类具有美国特色的高等教育机构。本文就集中于对美国四年制私 立文理学院的研究，分五章来展开阐述。 第一章阐明为什么选择美国四年制私立文理学院作为研究对象的理由，然后 针对相关的重要概念进行解释和界定，接着对国内外其他学者有关美国四年制私 立文理学院的研究状况做一个简单的梳理和总结，最后提出本文的一个研究思路 与方法。 第二章主要从美国四年制私立文理学院的创办背景、发展过程以及它们所具 有的重要特征三个方面来介绍其发展概况，对美国四年制私立文理学院做一个比 较全面的介绍。 第三章集中于对美国四年制私立文理学院外生环境的分析。其所处的一个外 生环境为其健康发展创造了必要的条件，如民主的政治环境、开放的社会环境和 发达的经济环境等等。 第四章集中于对美国四年制私立文理学院内生环境的分析。从硬环境和软环 境两个角度进行探讨。其中硬坏境主要是对学校的办学条件和师资队伍的分析； 软环境集中于对学校管理机制和学校文化的研究。 第五章对美国四年制私立文理学院的发展趋势给出了笔者的个人看法，笔者 认为美国四年制私立文理学院在未来的发展过程中，将继续坚守博雅教育理念， 注重课程的综合化以及学校内部管理的精细化和个性化。 本人主要是针对美国网年制私立文理学院这个群体做出的一个整体探讨和 分析。但在现实社会中，每一所知名的四年制私立文理学院都具有各自的特色。 值得在以后的研究过程中给以更多的关注，力求吸取精华，这将具有一定的价值。 关键词：四年制私立文理学院，美国，外生环境，内生环境，博雅教育 ABSTRACTThe ABSTRACT The charm of American higher education lies mainly in the private higher education, but it not only lies in the private research universities but also in the pfivate four-year liberal arts colleges．There are so many instimte types in American higher education system．And it is the truth that the private,four-year liberal arts colleges provide the best undergraduate education and cultivate a large number of generalists for the society outside and the research unversities．This article focuses its research on American private four-year liberal arts college．And the dissertation is divided into five branches． In the first chapter,the article explains the reasons why the author selects American private four-year liberal arts college as her research field，and introduces the research methods aS well as the main concepts． In the second chaper,the author elaborates the situation about the private four-year liberal arts college from three aspects：the background of the establishment， the process of development，and the main characteristics，in order that let the readers could generally understand American private four-year liberal arts colleges． The thi
