That not only can improve the capability of artistic express sky，but also can get a knowledge of basic skills and techniques. Oil painting is an art of light and color, while the sky is the source of expressing light and color in oil painting. So the expression of sky in oil painting directly impact on the effect of the whole painting. Value and research the significance and function, form and techniques, painting element, artistic expression and value of sky in oil painting is very important. This thesis take the specific history period and particular style genres master work as basis, analyze and compare longitudinal and transverse, then combine the
