II II Abstract Ground cover plants were always characterized by the following facors: abundant in species, colorful appearance and easy management. In this research, field incestigation, data collection and analysis were carried out upon ground cover plants of Maanshan green land based on the “point, line, surface” sample selection method. Firstly, the constitution, characteristic, diversity and application frequency of ground covers were evaluated according to the vegetation ecology. Further analysis was concentrated on the allocation model of Maanshan ground covers. Finally, we were able to idnentify some problems existed in the ground covers application in Maanshan and propose some putative solutions. In addition, we made a check list of cover grouds which might be suitable for the application of cover grounds in Maanshan. The general constitutions of cover ground plants in Maanshan were known as shrub and perennial herb, of which ever green species were the most dominant. Maanshan city green land cover plants in the effect of species, ornamental, ecology configuration application from three aspects. Face these problems suggest ma on shan city green cover plant landscape configuration, finally recommends a suitable cover plant of Maanshan city green space plant list.
