PAGE PAGE VI Abstract In the Anti-Japanese War, with the expansion of Japanese aggression and the aggravation of Chinese national crisis, Chinese peoples awareness of the national salvation was awaken. By the standard guidance and organization of the National Government, the positive response and efforts of the Hunan Provincial Government, the mobilization and organization of the Communist Party of China in Hunan, the formation and promotion of Anti-Japanese War cultural center in Changsha, a large number of Anti-enemy supporters associations of different names was established in Hunan. These Anti-enemy supporters associations were evolved with the development of the current situation, gradually form more perfect organizations, regulations and systems, which made the progress of many Anti-Japanese work smooth. Because of the organization of Hunan Anti-enemy supporters associations, the general public took part in many activities to Anti-Japanese and save the nation from subjugation, which were rich in content and forms. It contributed a lot and played an important role in supporting the war. Its main activities and functions as follows: First, it carried out many widespread propaganda positively, and mobilized Hunan populace to participate in many Anti-enemy work by making newspapers and wall newspapers, distributing leaflets, organizing pictures and technology exhibitions, posting, conducting lectures, radio and recreation, offering a variety of education and training, organizing kinds of propaganda teams and so on. Second, it promoted the smooth development of many activities, such as recruiting the clothing and scrap metal, donating and soliciting saving bonds, which called on all the people to respond and try to participate in positively. It collected a large quantities of commodities and supported the Anti-Japanese War powerfully. Third, it mobilized the general populace to participate in many acctivities to console the serviceman, calm and service the wound
