PAGE PAGE 2 The study on reliability of mesio-distal angulation and bucco-lingual inclination measured with three methods Abstract Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability of mesio-distal angulations (tip) and bucco-lingual inclinations (torque) measurement for all the teeth by utilizing Invivo 5.1,Dental Orthodontic software and Andrews model measurement respectively. Method: A plaster study cast of the dentition of a volunteer with near-normal occlusion was obtained from impressions taken with silastic. The CBCT scan of the volunteer placed in a standard position was taken using a NewTom VGi. Mesio-distal angulations (tip) and bucco-lingual inclinations (torque) for each tooth of the volunteer were measured by Invivo 5.1 (text3),Dental Orthodontic (text2),Andrews model measurement (text1) and compared. The measurements of all parameter were measured by the same investigators at 15 different times. All data were entered into Microsoft Excel worksheet and were analyzed using Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. Results: The ICC for the tip of text1,text2 and text3 were 0.982,0.985and0.997;the ICC for the torque of text1,text2 and text3 were 0.998,0.995 and 0.999.The ICC indicate The measurements of test 3 are more reliable than test1and test 2. The variation for the tip and the torque was larger in the posterior than in the anterior in the test 1,2and 3. The variation for the tip was larger than the torque in the test 1,2and 3. There is no statistically significant difference in the test1 and test2 tip and torque measurements .5.There is a statistically significant difference in the test3 and test2 tip and torque measurements for all teeth. Conclusion: Invivo 5.1 3D measurement,Andrews model measurement and Dental Orthodontic software measurement were reliable,the reliability of Invivo 5.1 3D measurement is better than Dental Orthodontic software and Andrews model measurement.
