Abstract
It is an efficient and economical mode of production pipes by cold roll forming. It is mainly used in the production of straight-welded welded pipe. Cold roll forming of pipes is a very complex process, the steel sheet related to a series of nonlinearity problem, and has great challenges to design of process parameters. With the development of pipe products gradually direction to hi-grade steel and heavy thickness, more stringent to the control of the defects such as springback in process of cold roll forming of pipe is required, and make more difficult to design of process parameters. So, the paper attempts to study the optimization of process parameters for cold roll forming of pipe.
The paper introduces the research situation of cold roll forming of pipe at the beginning, including the research status of deformation mechanism of steel sheet and process parameters in the forming process. Based on elastic-plastic finite element theory, cold roll forming of a longitudinally welded pipe production line was regarded as the research object, and establishes the finite element analysis model for the production line in ABAQUS finite element analysis software. A prediction technique for springback of tube blank based on response surface method was presented, the prediction technique can predict the impact of changes of process parameters on the springback of tube edge. Finally, optimized design the process parameters of a cold roll forming of a factory by used the prediction technique for springback of tube blank which based on response surface method, the optimized design results can be decrease the springback on the edge of pipe, and the method of angle distribution which contribute to increase the quality of edge of pipe in the dual-radius forming was presented according to the experimental data that in the process of optimizing design.
