AbstractThe Abstract The current China is in the vital process of a social change，which is not only all economical one，but is bound to result in all·round changes in the society．With regard to value，a series of actualities and problems have come into existence，e．g．value diversifications，value Conflicts and dominant values are urgently awaiting reconstructions．As a social member,each individual is confronted with all kinds of choices of value each day,which more or less Concerns the riving quality and the formation of value concepts of the individual，even affecting the entire social stability and development． Therefore，in this particular historical period,this thesis，by probing into the basic theories of individual choice of value，attempts to provide theoretical references for the practices of the individual choice of value,according to the probable errors in the value actualities and individual choice of value in the current China．By starting from such four aspects as the relationship between the individual needs and impersonal laws，the relationship between individuals and the society,the relationship between basie value selections and value belicf selections as well as the method of how to handle rational elements and irrational elements，the author attempts to state that when an individual satisfies his own needs，he has to accord to the inherent properties of things by giving attention to the needs of the society,which means the individual has not only to select basic values in his daily life but also has to have lofty value befiefs．In the process of choice of value，he has to fully and actively play the rational as well as the irrational role．Only in this way,an individual is likely to distinguish between the right and wrong,to show loftiness in everyday life，to capture opportunities in adversity and eventually he is likely to set up scientific and decisive value concepts and accordingly he Call promote the harmony and achievements of the entire society where ev
