The Searle? theory of intentionality is full of implication and profound, unique and novel, which is an important place. The basic principle of the theory of Marxist consciousness is still of convincing, but Marxism must go along with time to interpret consciousness again .we must reconstruct the theory of Marxist consciousness. underlining the theory of intentionality, especially the Searle? theory of intentionality., which is necessary to develop Marxist theory .For this reason ,the author tries to discuss the connotation and nature of the Searle? theory of intentionality from five sides . Part 1: The study background of the Searle? theory of intentionality. The author mainly from a total aspect discusses the study of intentionality in China and abroad. Part 2: The feature, kinds of the Searle? theory of intentionality. The author mainly discusses the unique of the Searle? theory of intentionality, under the background of physicalism, explains his collective intentionality, which is of meaningful to show social mentality and speechreference. Part 3: The relation with speech acts and intentionality. The author mainly discusses the basic term and tool of the Searle? theory of intentionality, including intentional content, direction of fit, conditions of satisfaction, intentional causation. Part 4: Mind—world Relations. From mind, Searle describe the two kinds of intentionality and affairs—intentionality, argues that there is no gap between mind and world from the view of the brute facts, then construct institutional reality in the light of the brutes facts by intentionality to mind. Part 5: The enlightenment of Searle?s intentionality. The author mainly discusses the position of intentionality in the theory of consciousness. , and tries to constructs the theory of Marxist intentionality. Key words:
