Abstract With the development of times, it appears new challenges for the ideological and political education in society, which are not only for society, but, more importantly, for the college education in our country. The value of college ideological and political education to the individual means this kind of education plays a pivotal role in intensifying the comprehensive quality and meeting the desire for self-improvement for the undergraduates. The theoretical foundation of this research of the individual value in college ideological and political education can be concluded into three aspects: the dialectical relationship between the individual and society, the concept of “human oriented”, and the theory of “all-round development of human being”. Besides, the individual value of ideological and political education mainly exhibits in five perspectives. Firstly, on political level, promote the socialization of undergraduates’ politics by teaching political knowledge, guiding political direction and improving their political evolvement skills. Then, on ideological level, help the undergraduates cultivate correct world view, life view and value view. Besides, on moral level, fasten the pace of developing noble moral quality in means of improving the understanding, the feeling, the will and behavior of morality. Moreover, on law level, improve their law quality in the way of increasing the awareness of law and developing the thinking patterns of law. Lastly, on psychological level, assist them to make a correct self-assessment, to harmonize the social relationship, to stabilize the emotions as well as forming good characters and will qualities.
