To enable the students to know basic knowledge of earthquakes-- one of the most destructive disasters. Train the students’ reading and speaking ability. To enable the students to understand the text. Teaching important points: Train the students’ reading ability—skimming and scanning. 2. Understand the text. Teaching difficult points: Describe the disasters.
