Step I Lead-in (5’)
Questions: How many natural disasters do you know?
Review the topic that talked about yesterday---which is natural disasters. And tell the students that we will learn one of the most destructive disasters. It is earthquake.
(Let students watch a short video that tells about earthquake.)
Step II Warming-up
Then let students review What happened to Wenchuan when there was an earthquake on May 12, 2008.
Step III: Pre-task
Task 1: Pre-reading :
1) Answer the question: Look at the title of “A night the earth didn’t sleep”, and think about what the writer means by the title.
