Translating core journals’ theory and foreign core journals of science and technology, help library to understand foreign periodicals in our country. In order to help us optimal collection construction with the least amount of money. Periodical evaluation theory has been from the adaptation to rapid development period, the application of journal evaluation has expanded from pure selected journals to title assess, thesis evaluation, evaluation of several aspects, such as academic achievements, from across the academic library science development, has become a common concern of the current academic circle. There are a lot of journal evaluation in our country. Each of the core journals or source journal are not identical each year. Each one in clude hundreds or thousands of article. How to make use of journal evaluation results and how to correct use of core periodicals is our most concern. Paper make use of our country existing periodical evaluation system as the research object. This paper compared the journal evaluation system including the evaluation method, evaluation index and the source journals. Mainly studies of the Chinese periodical evaluation system, including core journal selection system and citation database system. Based on the periodical evaluation using the evaluation method, source journals, and the same evaluation index through the comparison found problems existing in the periodical evaluation system.
