Abstrac:tRecentlyTubiicidae(Oligochaet:eTubiicidae)hasbeenobservedtohavepotentialtoimprovesludgesettlinganditiswidelyappliedinthe
studyosludgereduction.Thepurposesothisstudywerethereoretosystematicallyinvestigatetheeectonsludgesettlingperormanceinducedby

Tubiicida.eThewormswereinoculatedatvariousadditionratiosintosludgeodierentTSSconcentrations(TSS≈4 g·L, 6 g·L 8 g·L )and
theresultingsludgecharacteristicsweremeasuredtounderstandtheeectsoTubiicidaeaddition.Resultsshowedthatarapidanddramaticenhancement
osludgesettlingratewasobservedwithin60 minutesaterTubiicidaeaddition, especiallyorsludgewithhighTSSconcentration.Comparedwiththe
sludgewithoutTubiicidae, thesludgevolumeatvariousTSSconcentrationscanbereducedby8% ～42% within60 minaterworminoculation.Sludge
characterizationstudiesshowedthatthemeanlocsizeandZetapotentialoactivatedsludgechan
