SPACE AND LOCATION Preposition 介词 一、含义 介词preposition缩写prep.，又叫前置词，表示其后的名词或代词（或是相当于名词的其他短语或从句）与其他句子成分的关系。介词是种虚词，不能单独在句子中做成分。 （一）简单介词 简单介词即只有一个介词加上其后的宾语在句中出现。 【例】 I arrived at the concert hall in good time. 我刚好赶到音乐厅。 Passengers should be in time for their train. 乘客应该及时上火车。 介词的种类 （二）重叠介词 重叠介词就是指两个介词连着使用，表示一个更加复杂的意思。常用的有：from among（从……当中），from behind（从……后面），until after（直至……之后），at about（在大约…….左右），from under（从…..的底下）等。 （三）短语介词 由两个词或更多的词一起使用，相当于一个介词，加上其后的宾语，在句中使用，这就叫短语介词，常用的短语介词有：at the back of…（在……后面），according to…（根据……），thanks to…（幸亏……），but for…（如果没有……） 【例】 In front of the house there is a racing car. 在房子前面有一辆跑车。 At the back of my school lies a swimming pool. 在学校的后面，有一个游泳池。 介词的功能 in Beijing 在北京 at school 在学校 on the sofa 在沙发上 under the chair 在椅子上 表示地点 表示地点的介词 in at on over under above below near by about around 1. 大地点用in，小地点用at in England 在英国 at home 在家 2.表示“在……上面/下面”的介词有on, over, above, under, below on on on over under above below beside my house 挨着我的房子 between you and me 在你我中间 behind the hospital 在医院后面 inside the box 在盒子里面 表示空间 表示空间的介词 beside outside inside between among near next to before behind about around 1. 表示“在……后面”，用behind, at the back of behind对应词为in front of eg: He parked the car behind the house. 他把汽车停在屋子的后面。 after的对应词为before eg: I should after him, but he didn’t hear at all. 我在他后边喊，可他怎么也听不见。 2. 表示“在……之下”，用under, below under与below均可表示“正下方” eg: The water reached a few inches below/under the knees. 水离膝盖只有几英寸了。 表示“低于……”仅用below，此时与above为反义 eg: below the sea level 海拔以下 below the freezing point 冰点以下 3.表示“在……中间”，用between, among, in the middle of between表示“在……之间（常指两者之间）” eg: You can sit between him and me. among表示“在……中间”（三者或三者以上）” eg: I couldn’t find him among the crowd. in the middle of 指位置时，总是强调在一处地方的中心或中心附近的位置。 eg: There is a desk in the middle of the classroom. 教室的中间有一张桌子。 go out of the door 走
