Teaching contents:
This lesson is based on the article”From Shy Girl to Pop Star”, which is about the changes of a young girl.It’s an interesting topic and close to students’ life.It will teach students how to set up right philosophy. It will give students a reasonable choice about star-pursuing and help develop their speaking and writing skills as well.
Teaching objectives:
Knowledge Skills
To help the students know more about stars and learn to debate.

Through discussing ,group working and debating to help students learn to communicate and draw conclusions.

To help Ss set up right philosophy.
Teaching Key points:
Understanding the good and bad sides of being a star, and how to chase stars reasonably.

The practice of debating in English.

Teaching Procedure:
Step 1 Lead-in
Show a picture full of stars ,ask Ss the following questions and allow them to discuss within 3 minutes, then encourage them to show their own opinions.
Do you like stars?
Who is your favorite star?
Why do you like him/ her?
Have you ever made track for a star?
Show the picture of Yang Lijuan ,and talk about her with Ss:
T: She has made track for a star crazily.
Do you know Who the woman is? (Yang Lijuan-- A fan of Andy Lau)
What happened to her after making track for Andy Lau?
Show Ss the stories of Yang Lijuan and ask them to express their own feelings about the woman’s story.
What do you think of her? (sorry ,pity. crazy,stupid......)
Can we make track for stars like her?
Should teenagers be allowed to make track for stars on earth?
(Divide the Ss into two groups according to their answers to question 3 above-Yes or No. Lead Ss to think about the Possible advantages of making track for stars if most Ss answer No. )
