Unit 2 I think that mooncakes are delicious!

I. Teaching Aims:

Step1:Leading in
T: Let’s enjoy a video.
Show some pictu res of the Mid-Autumn festival. Ask the students some questions:
1). Do you like the Mid-Autumn festival?
2). Do you eat mooncakes?
3). What do you do on the Mid-Autumn festival?
Step2:Presentation
1.Ask the Ss to read the text by themselves. Full moon, full feelings
2.Ask the Ss to find the keys to the two questions
3. Before you read
Let’s look at t he photo, the questions in 3a and the title to the story on page 11.
Then answer the questions below.
1). Who is the girl in the picture?
2). What’s the meaning of “Full Moon, Full Feelings”
4. Listening
Listen to the tape once to try to master the main idea of the passage.
5. Careful reading
Tell the Ss to help each other and master the whole passage:
1). Translate the text into Chinese.
2). Underline some phrases and recite them.
Step3:Practice
1. Read Para. 1 and answer the questions below.
1). What do we eat on Mid-Autumn Festival?
2). What do mooncakes look like?
3).Why we eat them on Mid-Autumn Festival?
2. Read Para. 2 and find what they have done.
3. Read Para. 3 and fill in the blanks(3C)
4. After you read
Ask the Ss to retell the text . Fill in the blanks and then read it.
Step4: Extension
Let the Ss kn ow some other traditional folk stories about Mid-Autumn Festival, enjoy some pictures of two traditional folk stories.
