Unit 13 We’re trying to save the earth.
Section A 3a-3b ( Period 2)教学设计
Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge objectives:
1) Learn and master new words: sharks, fin, cruel, harmful, chain, ecosystem, industry, law;
2)Learn and master the phrases:hear of, cut off, be harmful to, at the top of, the food chain.
2 .Ability objectives:Be able to get the main idea through reading,
Be able to master some reading skills
Can express opinions about calling up others to protect the animals and the earth.
Moral objectives:After learning, students can develop a sense of protecting animals and the environment.
Teaching key points
Master some reading skills
Teaching difficult points
Master some reading skills;
Know how to write a passage about protecting animals.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Revision
Sow a picture about the polluted earth and review types of pollution in last period.
(Let more students take part in this class activity)
Step2. Lead-in
T: The environment is becoming worse and worse, meanwhile, there are also animals that are in great danger.
(Let students give some examples of endangered animals.)
T: Other creatures that live in the oceans are also endangered.
设计意图:由环境污染,很自然的过渡到濒危动物,进而再到濒危海洋生物--鲨鱼。层层递进。视频加深了学生对将要学习课文的了解,同时增加学习的兴趣。
Step 3. Presentation (Pre- reading)
1. Play a video about sharks and lead in the new words and phrases.
(Make preparation for reading.)
T: What’ the video about?
2. Show pictures about sharks. Guide students to speak out new words and phrases.
设计意图:一方面,直观形象的展示海洋生物的现状,以及鲨鱼在海洋生物链中的重要性;另一方面,反映了人类捕“鲨”的残忍性。同时,处理了本课的新词汇及短语。
Step 4. Reading
Task 1.Fast reading. Let students read the title and the first and the last sentences in each paragraph and match the main ideas.
Talk about shark fin soup. Para.1
Sharks are endangered now. Para.2
Two groups about “ finning ”. Para.3
Task 2. Read the passage quickly and judge the sentences T or F .
