Teaching procedures: Step 1. Revision. Show some common cardinal and ordinal numbers and ask the students to translate. So that , they can recall what they learned before. Step 2. 1.the meanings of the Cardinal numerals Ordinal numbers 2.ways to read them in English 3. practices Step 3. 1.基数词与hundred; thousand; million; billion等连用, 表示确切、具体的数目时,词尾不加“s”；如：five hundred, six thousand, seven million, nine billion 等。当 hundred, thousand，million; billion等与“of”连用时用复数形式．如：thousands of students, millions of trees.注意several, some是表示确切数字的词 2. ▲表示编号：单数名词＋基数词, 且名词与数词的第一个字母一般都要大写;用序数词表示编号时,要位于名词前,且要加定冠词the.如: Lesson Eight/ the eighth lesson; Page15, Room 307 Row Three/ the third row ; Bus No.37 3. 时刻的表达 整点 基数词o’clock 几时几分 钟点数+分钟数 4. 基数词与单数名词构成复合形容词, 中间要用连字符 “-” .例： an eight-year-old boy 一个八岁的男孩 a two-day holiday　　　一个两天的假期 5. 容易写错的序数词和基数词对照表及规则 基变序有规律，词尾加上“－th”． “一，二，三”特殊记，加th从4起 (first, second, third, fourth) 。 八加h，九减e， (eighth, ninth) Ty 变成tie (twentieth, ninetieth) f要把ve替 (fifth, twelfth) 若是几十几，前基后序别倒位 (ninety-first) 。 序数词缩写记清楚，数字后跟两字母。 6. 序数词前用不定冠词a/an时表示“再一，又一”，相当于another. 7. 分子用基数词, 分母用序数词. 当分子大于1时,序数词之后加“s”.　谓语动词的数由分数后面的名词决定． 8. 年、月、日的表达方法： “年”用基数词，“日”用序数词，前面要加定冠词. 有两种表达方式:月份+the+某日的序数词+年份或 the+某日的序数词+of+月份+年份 step 4.more exercise to master the numerals step 5.
