b. Sentences:
— Hows the weather in Beijing? (= Whats the weather like in Beijing?)
— Its cloudy.
— How’s it going?
— Not bad, thanks.

(2) Learn sentence structures: How’s it going? How’s the weather?
(3) Consolidate the present progressive tense to talk about what people are doing.

Teaching procedures
Step1. Warm-up
Greet the whole class. Ask the Ss randomly: What’s the date today? What day is it today? Do you like watching TV? Do you watch the weather report on CCTV1 at 7:30 p.m.?
Step2 Presentation
1. Lead-in
Show some weather signs. Then ask students “Do you know them? Please discuss and answer.”
Show the weather words, and then teach them these new words: rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow.
