Abs tract: The provision of structure integrity to avoidmajor failure and progressive collapse of structures caused by
local failure under abnormal load ing is a major concern for design engineers. In recent years, codes and standards
of Europe and USA proposed qualitative criteria, inw hich the progressive collapse analysis has been ameasure for
studying the mult-i hazard protection of the structure. Improving the structural entirety robustness is the prmi ary
approach. By surveying the research situation at hom e and abroad, the defin itions are introduced for the progressive
collapse analysis and entirety robustness, and the d ifferent analysis and evaluation method and the measures for
mi proving entirety robustness of structure are d iscussed. F inally, the problems to be researched for further analysis
of the top ic were presented.
