Dear Mary, Thanks for your last letter. Now, let me tell you something about my favorite Chinese festival, the Dragon Boat Festival. It is one of the most important traditional festivals in China, celebrated on May 5th of Chinese lunar calendar. This festival has a history of more than 2000 years in China.  According to its name, we know that this festival is best known for the dragon-boat races, especially in the southern places where there are many rivers. People always eat zongzi this day. Thats my favorite part because I like those delicious zongzi. One more thing, our parents often hang calamus and moxa on the front door to ward off evil. Its really special, isnt it? In the past, people usually made spice bags and carried this kind of bags around with them. It is said that it not only drives away evil but also brings good luck and happiness. The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated to commemorate the great poet, Qu Yuan, who tried his best to protect his country. Thats why I admire him and love this festival deeply.
