An analysis of Mise-en-Scène would be a description of the subjects in the frame, the relative positions, and the camera’s relation to them. Mise-en-Scène Setting Framing Sound and Lighting Costume and props Symbols and Motifs Setting Setting is the term used to refer to the background of a particular scene. It might literally consist of a “set” constructed specially for filming in a studio, or it might be a real outdoor environment or background chosen by the director for “on location” filming. Either way, it will be a carefully chosen backdrop to the action of the film, and may be charged with symbolic value or emotional significance. Framing Framing is one of the more specific ways in which mise-en-scène can be used to create an expressive space. It refers to the use of architectural features to “frame” an action and to imbue it with added significance. Typically such architectural features will be doors, windows, or mirrors. Sound and Lighting Sound diegetic sound (剧情音效) is sound that occurs in the fictional world of the film: the sound of footsteps as a character walks, the sound of a clock ticking , or the sound of a bullet being fired from a gun non-diegetic sound (非剧情音效) is the sound that does not occur within the fictional world of the film and can only be heard by the audience (often this will take the form of a music soundtrack).
