* 988948 * Results from this nursery pig trial indicate that supplementation with highly bioavailable Meth-Iron, from birth through 35 days of age, increased Fe status and resulted in improved hemoglobin concentrations over piglets receiving a positive control of 100 ppm FeSO4 or an iso-sulfate at 120 ppm. Supplementation with iso-levels of FeSO4 resulted in significantly lower hemoglobin concentrations than all piglets receiving Meth-Iron. Iron stores in puppies drop quite rapidly after birth and as such they become dependent upon dietary Fe for maintenance of Fe status.
