Could you tell us exactly what this entails (需要)? B: It entails basically the history that started when I was a little boy taking notes at school and I found the process very boring, very unproductive. And by the time I was at the university I was taking more and more linear (直线的) notes, getting more and more bored, and getting worse and worse marks. And I suddenly thought something was wrong. So I went to the library and said to the librarian, “I need a book on how to use my brain.” And the librarian said to me, “Mr. Buzan, the medical section is over there.” And I said, “ I don’t want to operate on this (my brain). I want to know how to use it.” And she said, “Oh, there’re no books on that,” dismissing my question. How interesting! No books on how to use the brain!” So I began to study it. And I realized that when I was taking notes instinctively (本能地), I would underline the key words. And when exams loomed(逼近) I would get desperate, underline more, and then take those few words and put them on a single page. And then I noticed that there were key key words, and there were also key key key words. So I used to double underline those and put them into little boxes. And then I realized they need connections, so I drew lines and arrows to show the associations bet
