ME HODS Retr ospect ive study of the clinical data of 18 cases w it h hospital acquired inf ect ion by C. men ingosep ticum , from Jan 1999 to Aug 200 1, including r elative clinical symptom s and signs, the drug sensitiv ity results . RESUL S Crit ical underly ing diseases( 88. 89% ) , various invasive treatments used( 72 . 22% , including 12 cases w ith respirato ry tract inv asive treatment) , long- ter m hospitalization ( 72. 22% ) and unsuitable application of antibiotics ( 100 % ) w ere the risk f actors . T he drug sensit ivity tests show ed that these strains w ere multi- resistant to commonly used antibiotics, such as imipenem , aztreonam , third or fourth gener atio n cephalosporins and amino glycoside antibiotics, but sensit ive to cefoperazone/ sulbactam ( 100% ) .
