Introduction Reading and Vocabulary

Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
As we know,the Three Gorges is a fascinating site for tourists,and also we have learned about the Three Gorges Dam in the past.Now,who can tell us what you know about the Three Gorges? … This module,we will go on a trip along the Three Gorges with the writer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Step 2 Introduction
1.Activity1 on P41
Read through the words to check the meaning *and try to describe what you can see.Then read out the words aloud together in class *and ask some students to share their opinions if possible.
2.Activity2 on P41
Complete the definitions using words in Activity1;call back the answers and explain if necessary;go through the completed definitions individually and slightly to understand better.
3.Activity3 on P41
Read through the given information to understand and try to choose;call back the answers and explain if necessary.
Step 3 Pre-reading
Next we will study some words related to the passage.[Activity4 on P43]
