Education: In 1326, he learnt business in Naples. Then the next six years he studied canon law. He also pursued his interest in scientific and literary studies. He is the first scholar who is proficient in Greek.;Experiences:
In the 1330s, he fell in love with a married daughter of Robert the Wise(the king of Naples), Mavia, who is portrayed as?Fiammetta?in many of Boccaccios prose romances.
In early 1341, Boccaccio returned to Florence.
In October 1350, he met Francesco Petrarch(彼得拉克). From then on, they established close friendship.
;On 23 October 1373, he who was ill at that time gave the last speech in University of Florence, in the symoposium(讨论会) on The Divine Comedy(神曲).
In 1374, Francesco Petrarch(彼得拉克) died. Boccaccio was in acute mental shock.
On 21 December 1375, Boccaccio died in Certaldo, where he is buried.;After his death, the church(教会) once mocked by Boccaccio sent people to dug his tomb and smashed the tombstone to vent their resentment(泄愤).
Status: he was ?a pioneer of the Renaissance. He, Petrarch and Dante were known as “the Renaissance three star(文艺复兴三颗巨星/文坛三杰)”.;Main works:
