Vacuum System Operation @room521/ESS building 真空系統操作實驗 一、實驗目的 經由本實驗課程介紹，使學生進一步了解真空的基本慨念，真空幫浦抽氣、真空量測以及真空系統的特性，並且藉由實際操作的方式，畫出Pumping down curve, 以增加學生對於真空系統的熟悉。 二、1真空之單位 Unit: Atm, Torr, mbar, Pa 1 atm=760 Torr =1013 mbar 1 Torr = 1 mmHg 1 Pa = 1 N/m2 = 0.01 mbar 二、2. 實驗設備 真空腔體、迴轉油封幫浦、渦輪分子幫浦、熱電偶真空計、離子式真空計、奈安培電流計 Vacuum chamber, rough pump, turbo pump, thermos-couple gauge, ion gauges. 三、實驗原理 3.1 真空幫浦分類與抽氣原理 3.1.1 真空幫浦之分類 3.2 真空計分類與量測原理 3.2.1 本系統所採用之真空計之分類 (一) 波登測壓計(Bourdon gauge): (二) 熱電偶真空計(Thermocouple gauge): (三) 離子化真空計（ionization gauge）： 四、 Pumping Down Curve Different slope of pumping down curve: At beginning: exponential decay due to volume pump down. After few minutes: the slope is “-1” to pump out the outgas molecules from the surface. (most of them are water molecules) If the pump down curve is “-1/2”. It indicates the gas molecules in the bulk of vacuum chamber slowly diffused out. If the slope is “0”, it is a leak. 五、實驗步驟 A. 實驗開始的開機步驟 ( pumping down) 打開熱電偶真空計(Conventron)，打開機械幫浦開關，隨即打開通往渦輪分子幫浦之angle valve，隨後打開通往真空腔之gate valve。t=0, 開始對真空腔抽氣。 以計時器紀錄粗抽的壓力。Record the pressure using conventron gauge 等候機械幫浦將真空腔壓力降至10-2 Torr。 打開渦輪分子幫浦之電源供應器。Turbo pump on after 10E-2 torr. 當氣壓低於10-3 Torr以下才可以打開熱離子真空計，僅量於高氣壓下減少使用時間, 一般於10-5 Torr以下才可以連續使用, 以必免熱燈絲氧化燒燬 (單價約3萬台幣)。Ion gauge on only after 10E-3 torr. To prolong the life time of ion gauge, below 10E-5 Torr for continuous operation. Do not vent to the air with ion gauge on. Shut down ion gauge, wait for while until it cool before vent the air in the vacuum chamber. 利用計時器紀錄系抽的速率。 Plot pumping down curve in Log(pressure) vs Log(time). 繪圖於全對數紙上，一個理想之抽氣曲線(Pumping down curve)其斜率應為-1。若斜率最後接近”0 “，則可能有漏氣現象。The slope of pumping down curve should be -1 for outgassing system. The slope of pumping curve is “0”, there is a leak. 由抽氣曲線預測真空度達到10-7 Torr 需多少時間時, 等待期間請助教講解實驗室中其它真空設備及封真空技術， 約0.5個小時後將gate valve 關上。此時可以進入關機程序. 10. 量測真空腔內壓力回升的速率。此時吸附於表面之氣體將逐漸回至真空體內，氣壓上昇。在無漏氣之情況下氣壓上昇至某一飽和值.
