语 篇 提 能 阅读理解 A Every March, the country celebrates the achievements of women in American history. Even though these achievements go back a long way, most schools didnt start paying attention to women pioneers and their achievements until recently. How did this change come about? The answer lies in the history books, of course! International Womens Day is born On March 19, 1911, a German woman named Klara Zetkin organized the very first International Womens Day. At first, this yearly event gave attention to peace (in an effort to end World War I) as well as womens rights. Over the years, however, interest in International Womens Day reduced until the 1960s, when the womens movement caused women to think why they werent included in the history books. National Womens History Week is celebrated In 1978, Womens History Week was started to encourage the teaching of womens history. School officials picked the week of March 8 to include International Womens Day. It was so popular that, in 1981, the US government passed a law making the week a celebration for the entire country. In 1987, a group of women asked the government to expand (扩大) the celebration. That same year, the government announced the entire month of March National Womens History Month. ________ Last year, the first-ever national womens history museum opened in Dallas, Texas. The museum brings to life the stories and achievements of 3,000 amazing American women. Besides, the museum runs Girlstart, a program that encourages young women to consider working in math, science and computer technology. These fields have been traditionally controlled by men. 1.What can we learn from the second paragraph? A. Womens rights were not recognized until the 1960s. B. Most women were not interested in the history books. C. Women tried to prevent World War I from breaking out. D. The first International Womens Day was celebrated on March 19. 答案与解析 D 推理判断题。根据文章第二段第一句“1911年3月19号一个叫Klara Zetkin的德国女人组织了第一个国际妇女节”,可知D项正确。 2.Womens
