比较级和最高级的构成 ① 一般单音节词末尾加-er 和 –est small ② 单音节词如果以-e结尾，只加-r 和-st easy early ③ 以不发音的e字母结尾的加r,或st brave fine late ④ 重读闭音节，双写末尾辅音字母，加-er和-est  big hot thin ⑤ 少数以-y, -er, -ow, -ble结尾的双音节词  healthy clever narrow ⑥ 其他双音节和多音节词在前加单词 more和most。 ⑦ 以后缀-ly结尾的副词前加more或most * 不规则比较级和最高级的构成 原级 比较级 最高级 good / well better best bad / ill / badly worse worst many / much more most little less least old older / elder oldest / eldest far farther / further farthest / furthest * 比较级的基本用法 比较级通常由“比较级+ than” 构成，表示在两者中间一方比另一方“更加……”。有时也可省去than。 注意than前后两项相比较的人或事物要一致。 例: 声音在水中传播速度比在空气中快。 Sound travels faster through water than through air. 3) 比较级前还可用much, even, far, a little, a lot 等词语来修饰，表示“…得多”，“甚至…”， “更…”，“…一些”等意思。 * as … as 之间用形容词或副词的原级 当as … as中间有名词时：as 原级+ 其它 as I can carry as much paper as you can. as … as 可以用of the same + (n.)这形式表示 Peter is as old as Kitty. = They are of the same age. 4. not so/as … as = less 原级 than The book isn’t as cheap as that one. = The book is less cheap than that one 在形容词或副词前加less构成比较级，表示相反的意思 as …as 否定：not so / as … as * 最高级的基本用法 最高级用于三者或三者以上比较，形容词的结构形式是“定冠词＋形容词最高级＋名词＋表示范围的短语或从句”（如of all, of the three, in the world等） 副词最高级前没有定冠词the。 one of + the 最高级+ 可数名词复数 * 5) “比较级＋and＋比较级”意为“越来越…” 。多音节比较级用“more and more＋形容词原级”形式。 healthier and healthier more and more wonderful 6) “The+比较级+主+谓，the+比较级+主+谓”表示 “越…就越…” 例: 她越忙就越感到幸福。 The busier she is, the happier she feels. 比较级的特殊用法 * Exercises D D A 1) Would you please say it _____ ?
